“For every community there are hidden talents, some are seen at a young age while others are discovered as you grow, by you or us. As human beings we are born unique with different characters, only to find a special one inside of you and connect with it,” these are words from Mr Mojela Tefo the director and founder of Duduza in Arts and Youth Development.

Duduza in Arts and Youth Development is situated in Pretoria in Tembisa. It is an NPO which is founded by two volunteers in love to promote art and uplift youth.

“We love to see unrecognized artists being acknowledged and helping to shape talents in those who have it but no knowledge of how to present it,” said Malesa Trompies a junior director.

Mojela told us that the aim is not to get rich but to pass their skill so that the art industry never dies. “It is more like a generational wealth pass in a manner of informal skill, most of the people charge a service fee but for Duduza you would not because of poverty and illiteracy of art,” added Mr Mojela.

One of the community member Mr Kobe, offered them a backspace to render their service at no cost since they don’t have a proper venue. Kobe said, “Youth development is one of the campaigns to keep children busy which we tend to turn a blind eye on since its benefits are intangible.”

One of their cast member aged 15 said that the organization is introducing them to a new world, in a year they met with people at performances and they now have a place to share their problems and to refresh their minds.
