Soccer tournaments are one of a kind. They keep people busy on weekends. They are mostly found in black communities where individuals do it for profit through entrance and stall selling. Most soccer clubs in rural areas like Big 17 are formed to take kids from the streets.

Big 17 is a big club formally known as
Lefakgomo Football Club, currently under
the supervision of coach Kgalema Phaladi.
This club was formed in the 70;s developing
from Dinoko Pirates as the community was
growing. It had no owner and was called a Royal
Club under supervision of sponsors and management.

The club had legends with unmatched talent. Most were denied professional signatory by parents because they were afraid of witchcraft. It was done for the life and safety of their kids. Dikoko Tša Mmoto known as Big 17 succeeded in promoting on player who is the late Johannes “Hero” Pilusa. The best-known striker who was promoted to clubs like Real Rovers and Moroka Swallows among other clubs in his professional career.
Coach Kgalema confirmed that Lefakgomo Football Club has no management. That leaves him as a coach and their captain Kopano "Thips" to take responsibility of the club from the finance portion down to team management.

“Most of the games we are robbed by referees the joint venture boosts us a lot, but sponsors are there for money because our supporters come to matches after we won,” says Moseki Mathipa a striker.
“Tournament settings are good as they curb youngsters from going partying, even though they try, outsiders are always there and will always be. As for the team the current situation each team faces as days fades in and out, it will pass for example Kaizer Chiefs is on its knees like us,” said by the club captain Kopano Mathipa.

One of the community members Mojela Teffo aforementioned that Big 17 is a big club which we used to be afraid of, now they are a runner up for many clubs. This is also emphasized by a joined venture with Maswiakgomo FC.The club they don’t get along and when clashed is a serious derby where a physical fight can startle, either in the field or fans. Today they are two Peas in a pot.
The Easter tournament at Pirates sports ground, sponsored by Selepe Sundowns player Mojela Richard. Proved that the two clubs are dying by failing to convert goals clashed with Dinoko Pirates. Not only it proved the inability of the club but also Mosekis’ statement that referees rob them.
